Our Story

Araiya was founded by Amruda Nair — a third-generation hotelier and granddaughter of Captain C.P. Krishnan Nair, founder of The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts. She built Araiya not to inherit a legacy but to interrogate one: to ask what Indian hospitality could become if it were built from first principles, with a genuine sense of place, commercial discipline, and the belief that the finest hotels give back more than they take. That belief became the Araiya Mandala — Within, Around, Beyond — and the three words that govern every property in the portfolio: Stay. Give. Return.
